It certainly does seem to have worked. You return to the Cenotaph alongst Velle to find the floridly calligraphed Page nestled amidst a garnish of star anise. You hesitantly pick up the Page and find the words somehow magnetically resistant to being read. You can look at them individually; with a series of small efforts and short breaks between you can even look at them in sequence; but to Read them takes a sort of spiritual running jump.
