Surprise
Before it can be decided whose mask Säve should make next, something Happens. You come down to the Breakfast Table to find Säve, who holds up another Card. It has more Text on it than any of the previous ones, and thus you cannot read it from afar.
Säve: “I saw the person who has been leaving these.”
Anise: !!
Säve: “I woke up early. When I came down here, a mysteryperson was standing at the Table.”
Anise: “…Mysteryperson?”
Säve: “Maxmysteryperson, stationary and insubstantial, fading like a Photograph. I was surprised enough, and bleary enough, that I didn’t say a word, just watched them go.”
That’s weird.
You take the Card. It is printed with a geometric Frame, similar but not identical to the others. You stare at it, imagining it as a Fabric pattern, for a moment before reading the Text.
