Get To Know Nolle Aspect
This process takes several days. At first the Interview is stilted and murmury, because while Nolle appears colorful and cheerful, it takes quite a lot of cajoling from Velle to get him to really delve into details about himself for Säve. “This is not going to be interesting” is a sort of slogan for him.
But over time, the members of the House get into a comfortable Rhythm. You claim the velvet wingback Chair. Velle stays barely perched on the edge of the Fainting Couch, poised to stand up and flit around the Room whenever she feels the need to be close to someone while addressing them. Y sits on the floor, restlessly switching between positions but clearly more and more engrossed in Nolle’s story. Nolle and Säve graaaadually turn toward each other on the Chaise Longue, until by the end of the first Night they are fully, unselfconsciously facing each other.
After the first Day of having to avert your Gaze from Nolle, you delicately ask him whether he could wear something other than the Lacedæmonian. At the beginning of the second Day, in respect of your request, he is instead wearing an intensely patterned and layered Dress of Wine-Red and Midnight Blue. It’s stunning, too, but not unnaturally so. You can look at it without your head swimming. By lunchtime, though, he apologetically asks your permission to change back — telling his story is taxing on his Soul, and it’s hard for him to make it through without the comfort of his most precious Item. You agree, and continue to practice paying attention to Nolle without looking directly at Nolle.
