Exhibit Doll
Your Little Sewing Box, the one you’ve been collecting scraps in, is across the W’drawing Room. (Velle’s Clutter has been a source of more curious scraps than you know what to do with.) You walk to it and take out the Doll, knowing that as soon as anyone gets a good look at it, you are on the Hook for your most ambitious Project yet. And for three more after that, which you haven’t even started thinking about yet. Nolle exudes Dress ideas. Velle you could come up with something nice for. But Säve? In the plain Black? And Y?
As that is going through your Mind, Nolle is marveling at the little Doll in the little Dress with the Lace and the Frills and the Ribbons and the Pewter. He’s sort of swiveling around to get all the angles, about a Span away from where you’re holding it slightly aloft. You haven’t said a word, but the room is in agreement. You’re on several Hooks, now.
